A Day at Camp!

An Unforgettable Experience!

At Baseball Country, each day campers are instructed in the fundamentals of playing baseball. These are the fundamentals of fielding, throwing, hitting, and the mental situations that can occur on the field. There are also many other fun things that are done each day, as well as the baseball lessons. Our activities for a day might include checkers, horseshoes, dominoes, cards, fishing, or a baseball movie on the field. Also, each camper keeps a journal that will include tips and knowledge gained during the camp. 90% of each day is devoted to baseball. The morning begins with a delicious breakfast consisting of "cowboy casserole"(egg/sausage),cereal,biscuits,milk and orange juice. Our morning session begins with stretching and warm-up. We begin teaching the proper way to throw the baseball while the campers loosen up their arms. Then we lead into the mechanics of fielding by practicing in small groups. After practicing basesball for 3 hours our campers are hungry for a "hot" lunch and a little rest. Soon it"s time to get back to the field for "fielding relays" or "homerun derby". After this time we play "WORLD SERIES" for 9 innings. This is an "exciting" time as our campers get to immediately put into action the things they are learning. The games are lead by our coaches as they pitch, umpire, and "coach" each player throughout the game. What a great opportunity this time is for campers to "feel" like an important part of the team. During the game our coaches are constantly talking and encouraging the players. After the game we all get to talk about how the game went and how we each gained from it. Now it"s time for a "hot" shower and supper. Each night campers enjoy meals consisting of Lasagna,Chicken Fingers, corn, peas, salad, tea, lemonade, etc. After suppertime small groups of 6(huddle groups)meet together with a coach for BIBLE study. Our campers consider this as the "highlight" of camp. "What a day." Lights out.

The Best from the Country...Baseball Country!

From arrival time to departure everyone at BASEBALL COUNTRY is sure to experience learning, fellowship and good ole "country living'.In this day in time of cell phones, computers and fast food what a neat place to "slow" down and enjoy life in a truly meaningfull way.Located on 51 acres with trees and pastures the smell of "sweet shrub" and honeysuckle along with the sounds of whipperwills and a myriad of birds, one can fully experience nature. We feel as though this is another example of what seperates this camp from others. With corn as borders for the outfields, purple hull pea patches, tomato and pepper gardens we just might send some of our campers home as little "farmers".
