Bio:
Alan Reach is the current head softball coach at Tuscaloosa County High School. Alan played college baseball at Tennessee Wesleyan College, but came to love softball from watching his younger sister, Jennifer Reach, grow up playing the game. After he finished playing baseball, he was fortunate to be able to spend two years as a manager for the University of Alabama Softball team under head coach Patrick Murphy.
Coach Reach graduated from Alabama in 2002, and coached at The University of Georgia from June of 2003 to June of 2004. He was the hitting coach and the recruiting coordinator for the program. During his year at UGA, the Bulldogs hit .331 as a team, third best in the country among division one schools. Coach gained lots of valuable experience from working at the college level under UGA head coach Lu Harris-Champer. However, after just one memorable year in college softball, Alan realized his calling and passion to teach and coach at the high school level and decided to leave college softball.
In his two years Tuscaloosa County High School, Alan has led the Wildcats to two Region championships. He has been named West Alabama 6A coach of the year both years.
Alan is twenty-nine years old and a graduate of Pelham High School, Pelham, Alabama. He and his wife Ann were married on June 9th, 2007.
When asked about deciding to work with Baseball Country, Alan noted, "There were two important things that really drew me to Baseball Country. First, its mission to share the gospel of Christ. Second, the concepts of Baseball Country allow kids to enjoy an experience unlike anything I've seen anywhere else. I'm honored to be part of the staff here at BC and I'm looking forward to seeing growth on the softball side of things."
